About Us
The Ames (Iowa) Camera Club is a community group for those interested in photography — the fun, the artistry, and the gadgetry. The membership ranges from professionals to complete beginners. We all have something to learn from each other.
Meetings are generally held the second Thursday of each month between September and May, at 7 p.m. in the Community Room upstairs in the Ames Public Library. Topics in the past have included presentations by wildlife, news and sports photographers, discussions about photography techniques, and software tutorials; sometimes we gather just to show each other pictures we've taken.

If you participated in this outing, feel free to send some of your photos to Mark so they can be posted here. - New Leadership

New officers for the 2010-11 season were confirmed at the May meeting, including Andrew Koppenhaver (photo above, by Luke Healey) as president and Neysa Goodman as vice president. - Results of the club contest held in March 2010 and judged by Dennis Chamberlin can be seen here.
- Selected pictures from the November 3 '09 Cemetery shoot can be seen here.
- Check out this introduction to photography by our own Luke Healey, which he put together for an ISU Workspace course.
All meetings are free to the public; there is no charge to attend. You will, however, need to join before entering the club's contests or exhibitions. For details please contact Luke Healey, or you can ask pretty much anyone at one of the regular meetings.
We are affiliated with the North Central Camera Club Council, which promotes activity among the various regional clubs and organizes contests.
